Maxine's February Round-Up: Award Wins, Panel Talks and Team Away Days!

5 mins By Maxine Laceby By Maxine

Hello my lovely Absoluters! I hope everyone is well and has had a wonderful February! For me, this month has been about trying new things to keep my wellness at the top of my priority list. Recently, I’ve seen a lot of powdered fruit and veg online and I just had to try it out. I ordered the Jux ginger powder and have been taking it alongside my Absolute Collagen sachets. I think we’re onto a winner here ladies, it’s 100% natural, it tastes really good and it makes me feel like I’m really detoxing my body from the inside out. Now, my month wasn’t all about ginger goodness so keep reading to find out what else I got up to!

Our Instagram Live!

This month, we held our very first Instagram live with one of our incredible experts, Dr. Fionnuala Barton. Dr. Barton joined us last year as our women’s health and menopause expert. She is incredible at what she does and we needed to share her wisdom with all of you lovely Absoluters. This was all about answering your questions on menopause and perimenopause so that you feel informed and confident. It can be a daunting time but as women we need to support each other, inform each other so that we can all feel strong in our own skin. If anyone has any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out to professionals like Dr. Barton, they are there to help and make this journey easier. 💛

Team Strategy Day

This month we held our annual strategy day at Bare Grylls in Birmingham! The team were all super excited to hear about all the incredible plans we have for 2024, it’s always important to keep everyone in the loop and on the same page so that we can all be excited together and go on to do some amazing things! Doing it at the Bare Grylls Adventure Centre was also a real treat. After our team catch-up, we all set off into different groups for an afternoon of fun activities. We did escape rooms, rock climbing, archery, some even did indoor skydiving! I hope the AC team had a fantastic time, they really deserve it. 💛

Award Win 🏆

This month Darcy and I attended the West Midlands Business of the Year Awards. Well, you might have already seen from my Instagram post but we’d only gone and won in our category! 🏆I was so incredibly pleased to win as the judging process was quite rigorous. We went through rounds of pitching and I am so glad that it all paid off! This award means more than just a trophy for me, as most of you know I moved to the Midlands when I was in my 20’s, but it has always been incredible to me. It’s where my children were and raised and where Absolute Collagen was born, it’s home for me. I want to thank everyone at Business Of The Year and especially to the AC team for all their hard work in helping us to come home with a win!

Prince's Trust Awards

Last year, I attended the Prince’s Trust Awards as a guest and I sat and listened to all of the inspiring stories that were being told from some pretty phenomenal young people. Fast forward to March 2024, I was asked to host the Prince’s Trust Awards in Birmingham! It was such an honour to be asked and an even bigger honour to share the stage with such inspirational people. As a patron of the Prince’s Trust, I have seen the life-changing impact these awards have on young people, and it is something so close to my heart. Thank you to The Prince's Trust for allowing me to be a part of this journey and for trusting me to host these awards. It was a fantastic day and such a brilliant experience, one that I will never forget. ✨

Natwest Panel Talk

To those who know my story, you’ll know I have a really important and grounded relationship with Natwest and this month I was invited to be a panellist at their business show hosted by Dragon Den’s Theo Paphitis. From being that underestimated business owner who couldn’t get their bank to call them back, to now being asked to tell my business story on a panel with two other incredible entrepreneurs was an absolute highlight. I’m so grateful to be in the position I am, I'm incredibly lucky and blessed to be able to now share my journey. Natwest has been incredible to me and has taught me so much. Thank you to Theo and the event organisers for an amazing day.

February, you have been amazing, March, you’re looking even better! 👀 We’ve got International Women’s Day coming up as well as Mother’s Day and my birthday! I can’t wait to catch up next time and tell you all about it! ✨ Bye everyone!
